Press Release Body: Early success for UK's first independent specialist tax advice community The Tax Advice Network is celebrating a whirlwind first six months, with over 900 accountants and other users already registered with the network. Tens of thousands of pounds of tax advice has been delivered by its members, marking the early success of the first network of its kind dedicated to the business-to-business tax advice community.
Despite very little marketing expenditure, the Tax Advice Network website has received over 7,000 visitors since its launch in November 2007 and raised more than £450 in donations for the charity TaxAid.
Developed by former ICAEW Tax Faculty Chairman Mark Lee, the site is rapidly establishing its position as the premier resource for reliable and cost effective tax advice. The weekly practical tax update emails are winning wide acclaim, the Tax Adviser members' forum boasts over 100 active discussion threads and the T.A.N.K already contains 30 authoritative technical articles to help accountants in general practice as well as over 40 shorter blog items.
The Tax Advice Network has also recently launched a facility for users to provide testimonials and to rate individual advisers, thereby assisting subsequent users of the Network.
Founder of The Tax Advice Network, Mark Lee believes that a series of coincidental but industry shaping events has contributed to the initial success of the site.
"When we were planning the launch, we never expected that the biggest tax consultancy in the country would be swallowed up by accountants BDO Stoy Hayward just weeks before our website went live. And another small tax consultancy was bought out by Begbies Trayner not long afterwards" explains Lee.
"This is a clear indicator of how the industry is changing and we are confident that this will only serve to strengthen our niche, and our reputation for providing direct access to professional, vetted and cost-effective tax support." adds Lee.
